What you may do
- Run scans against any publicly-routable hostname or URL you reasonably believe is in scope (your own properties, sites you've been authorized to test, sites with public-facing services).
- Compare and link to scan reports for journalism, academic research, consumer-information purposes, or your own due-diligence.
- Embed badges (
/badge/{domain}.svg) on your own pages.
What you may NOT do
- Use the scanner to violate computer-misuse laws (Indian IT Act 2000 §43, US CFAA, UK Computer Misuse Act 1990, etc.). Authorization is your responsibility — we provide no presumption of consent.
- Attempt to disable rate limits, scrape at-scale without prior agreement, or otherwise abuse the public infrastructure.
- Misrepresent CamsClaw findings as a professional security audit or penetration test. Findings are best-effort signals from automated probes.
- Use scan results to coerce, defame, or harass operators of scanned domains. Public disclosure of findings should follow responsible-disclosure norms (notify the operator, give reasonable time to remediate).
- Republish scan permalinks on phishing or fraud-adjacent sites.
Disclaimer of warranty
CamsClaw is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees about availability, accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Findings may include false positives or miss true positives. Treat results as a starting point, not a verdict.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Cams project is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of CamsClaw — including business interruption, reputational harm, or remediation costs. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the Cams project harmless from claims arising from your scans of third-party domains or your use of CamsClaw reports outside the bounds of these terms.
Rate limits
Currently 30 scans / hour / IP and 200 scans / day / IP. Higher limits available for verified academic, journalistic, or security-research use — email abuse@camsclaw.ai.
Modification
These terms may change. The current version is whatever's at this URL. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Exclusive jurisdiction for any dispute lies with the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
